How to Choose Corporate Gifts: A Practical Guide for HR and Procurement

Corporate gifting is easy to get wrong: generic gifts get forgotten and over-complicated ones blow the budget. A simple framework helps HR and procurement teams choose gifts that land well.

Start with the goal

Is the gift a thank-you, a welcome, a milestone or a relationship builder? The goal decides how personal and how premium it should be.

Know your recipients

Employees, clients, vendors and event guests have different expectations. One universally useful product, like drinkware, simplifies mixed lists.

Set a realistic budget

Agree a per-person figure first, then choose the best gift within it. Ask suppliers for bulk pricing rather than paying retail.

Prefer useful over novel

Gifts that are used daily build recall. A tumbler on someone's desk is seen many times a day.

Add a personal touch

Names, a handwritten note or a colour that matches the team all lift a bulk gift above generic merchandise.
